Harting complements its class Han with type Q 4/2 providing another alternative of connection technique which gets by without special tools. The power contacts for a rated current of 40 A are attached with a standard hexagon screwdriver. Harting makes the product range of DIN41612 connectors even more efficient with the new SMC (surface mount compatible) -series. By special plastics the male and female connectors can now transfer up to three times higher voltages. A clearly higher CTI value allows the fact that with a leakage path of 1.2 mm the voltage can amount to 160 V, instead of usual 50 V between two adjoining contacts. Souriau offers the connectors MIL-DTL-38999 series III in ROHS-compliant execution with black zinc-nickel-surface at a price level comparable to the previous coatings. Beside the non-reflective paint the zinc-nickel-surface of these plugs also fulfils the same electric properties and contact-density of the cadmium-plated version. The transition resistance is approx. 2.5 mOhm, the shielding reaches values of 90dB up to 100Mhz transfer rates. Currently all connectors of MIL-DTL-38999 series III with thread lock and black zinc-nickel-coating are available. Standard housings for heavy industrial connectors comply currently with protection class IP65.
